Breakfast: Mate, crackers, cheese, ham, fig jam, & dulce de leche.

Poor, sweet Elizabeth when she finally got something to eat. Pizza, the international food!

The feria ( street market) where Ed and Isabel buy all their fruits and veggies. I wish the picture did it justice. But change the language and you could have been in any European city market.
Paul joined the CIA before we got here...

Stopping in a shaded plaza in downtown Montevideo. It reminded me a lot of a street in Manhattan, less crowded than Broadway. Mariel refers to it as "the jungle".

Artisans and vendors selling in the streets of Ciudad Vieja. Feria at the Plaza Matriz.
( I bought my first mate here :)

Mate Heaven.

Authentic Uruguayan Barbeque at Mercado Del Puerto. Reasons we are not in Kansas: 1. Blood Sausage ( yes, it is exactly what it sounds like) 2. Always ask what it is before you agree to taste... salivary glands- - 3. Do you want your water with or without gas? Sin gas, por favor. 4. The waiter offered to change the baby's diaper and hold her while I ate.
Today was a rainy day. I am dying to get to the beach and so is Elizabeth. When we get ready to leave anywhere, she asks me " we are going to the beach?" The next couple days are supposed to be sunny and 77 degrees!
PS Isabel pierced Hailey's ears right before bed today! They look sooooo sweet! I will get a picture of her in the morning. Now people can stop asking me if she is a boy or girl!
